Austin, TEXAS, October 4, 2019 — The Austin Business Journal has announced 2019 rankings for its prestigious Book of Lists. UFCU garnered top listings for the fourth consecutive year, named the #1 credit union as well as the #1 mortgage company.

These achievements resonate especially strongly with the cooperative, who strives to prioritize meaningful relationships with Members and to help make sure every Member has a path to home ownership. This latest acknowledgement rounds out an impressive list of successes for the locally owned credit union in 2019, having received recent accolades from the Austin American-Statesman and Forbes.

The ABJ mortgage producer rankings are based on the number of 2018 residential mortgages closed in Austin and surrounding areas. Combined with loans made outside the Austin area, UFCU closed 2,797 mortgage loans last year for a total residential mortgage volume of $788,010,465. The UFCU team of mortgage loan officers is largely responsible for this year’s achievement. Seven loan officers were named the area’s Top 25 mortgage producers. All combined, 20 UFCU mortgage producers are among Austin’s top 75 producers.

“It’s wonderful to witness the dream of home ownership coming true over and over again across our communities, and we are grateful that so many Austinites are trusting in us, not just for home loans, but at every stage of their financial journey,” said Tony C Budet, UFCU president/CEO. “We believe in Member service. I believe that’s why we continue to be Austin’s #1 credit union and mortgage lender.”
