UFCU Names New Senior Manager of Commercial Lending

Jason QunellAustin, TEXAS – May 27, 2015 – University Federal Credit Union (UFCU), Austin’s largest locally-owned financial institution, is pleased to announce the selection of Jason Qunell as the new Senior Manager, Commercial Lending. Qunell will be responsible for providing leadership and developing staff within Commercial Lending to expand services to UFCU’s membership.

Qunell has over 20 years of commercial lending experience and most recently was the SVP, Commercial Real Estate Lending for Capital One Bank in Austin, TX. He has financed over $1 billion of commercial real estate projects across the country and managed client relationships headquartered in Austin, San Antonio, Dallas, Atlanta, and Canada. Qunell holds a MBA from St. Edward’s University and BBA from Texas Tech University.

Qunell is a past President of the Young Men’s Business League (YMBL) and currently serving as capital campaign chair for a $4 million redevelopment of its Zilker campus. He is a member of the Real Estate Council of Austin (RECA), and serves on a variety of community boards including Foundation Communities, and the Urban Land Institute (ULI) where he is an advisory board member and serves on the Housing and Community Development committee.
