Emily C began her UFCU journey in 1976 with a modest loan for a used VW bug that would put her on the road from Austin to Dallas to help with a family emergency. Since then, she’s traveled great distances, as not only an archeologist, but also as a journalist, playwright, screenwriter and magazine editor. She uses the term “storyist” to cover the range of her published work.

Christopher and Leslie moved to Austin after Hurricane Katrina in 2005, and have been in Austin ever since. Christopher is an environmental scientist specializing in Central Texas cave species. He and his partner Leslie love to explore the outdoors, Central Texas cave preserves, and the Austin music scene. You might even catch Christopher playing live music with his British power pop band, The New Way.

Both veterans of the US Air Force, Joseph and Kamille were among our first Members to close on a UFCU VA home loan. With help from Mortgage Loan Officer Armando G, they’ve settled into a great house and now spend as much time as possible outdoors and unplugged, target shooting, hiking, or kayaking on the river as a family.

Apollo B is a new dad who works in the banking industry. His team of UFCU representatives has helped him improve his credit and get his first auto loan, credit card, and home loan. He’s on his way to financial success.

Katherine S founded the Technical Communications program at Austin Community College^® (ACC), which is still going strong today. She’s a teacher, an administrator, a published author, a world traveler, and a UFCU Member. We’re proud of Katherine’s contributions to our local community and the world over.

Cassandra P wears many hats. Once a journalist, Cassandra is now a designer, an entrepreneur, a new mom, and a trendsetter in her own right. UFCU has helped Cassandra transition to motherhood and will be there as she takes her business to the next level.

Ed T is a full-time freelance writer and consultant who has worked in Austin over 20 years. He authors multiple books, articles, and blogs every year. Ed started banking with UFCU as a UT grad student in 1976. He’s relied on UFCU as his financial partner ever since to help manage his cash flow and care for his family.

Jonathan G is many things: a college grad, a CPA, an entrepreneur. He’s the Assistant Director of student accounts at St Edward’s University and a long-time Member of UFCU. But most of all, Jonathan’s a gamer. He loves board games, community, and the results when those two things come together.

Patty K has a career, her art, and a new granddaughter. How does she balance it all? Not by sleeping late! Patty plans to work well into her later years to meet her financial goals, and she’s optimistic. A new Rav4, financial counseling, and Online Banking is how she’ll get there.

Ginger W found UFCU when she was looking for an auto loan. She joined to take advantage of low rates, but has stayed because of the relationships. She especially appreciates the education, the trust, and the connections that come with UFCU membership.

Jessie B believes in giving back to her community. She runs a printing, embroidery, and design business in Galveston. Jessie has also created a small business group that gets together weekly to discuss how they can help each other grow. She’s helping to build her community.

Mark D prioritizes flexibility and compassion for others. An entrepreneur with his own antique store, Mark believes it all comes down to people helping people.

Mary has been a professor at The University of Texas at Austin™ for 30 years. When she first started, she asked her colleagues where they banked, and most of them responded with UFCU. It was just so convenient. So she opened an account, and has been banking here ever since.

Michael and Elizabeth joined UFCU in 1965, when they came to The University of Texas at Austin™. Now Members for more than 50 years, they’ve grown from young UT students to seasoned credit union Members, and they’ve witnessed the growth of their credit union too.

Jesse P appreciates UFCU’s modern conveniences, like digital services and the Mobile Banking app. And he relies on UFCU staff to help him handle everyday issues.
