Avoid Scams & Protect Your Information

| Announcements

At UFCU, your security and peace of mind are our top priorities. We want to make you aware of a new scam that has recently affected some of our Members.

Several Members have reported receiving fraudulent letters that appear to be from UFCU. These letters falsely claim there has been unauthorized access to the recipient’s account and offer a “dedicated representative” to help resolve the issue. The letter includes a phone number and a name — neither of which are affiliated with UFCU.

Here’s what you need to know:

  • These letters are not from UFCU. They are part of a scam designed to trick you into sharing personal or financial information.
  • UFCU will never send unsolicited letters asking you to call a specific individual or provide sensitive information.
  • If you receive such a letter, do not call the number or respond in any way.

In addition to these newer attempts, some bad actors continue to attempt to get your personal information via phishing and smishing (that is, via phone calls, emails, and texts). We understand how unsettling this can be, and we’re here to help. If you’ve received a suspicious letter, email, text, or phone call claiming to be from UFCU, please:

Your vigilance is key to protecting your information. Please note, UFCU will never contact you asking for:

  • PIN numbers
  • One-time passwords
  • Login credentials

These requests are scams. For more tips on how to protect yourself from scams, visit  UFCU.org/security.

Thank you for being a valued Member of UFCU. We’re committed to keeping you informed and secure.
