UFCU To Fund New Texas State University Scholarships

Austin, TEXAS, September 1, 2021 — UFCU, Austin’s largest locally owned financial institution, continues its commitment to higher education with the announcement of a scholarship partnership with Texas State University Athletics.

“UFCU Score for Scholarships” is the foundation of the partnership that will provide up to $100,000 in scholarships to Texas State University students. Through the “Score for Scholarships” program, UFCU pledges scholarship funds when the Bobcats score points in football, men’s and women’s basketball, volleyball, baseball, and softball. UFCU’s commitment will add to the scholarship pool for every touchdown, three-point basket, volleyball ace, or home run scored.

“We are thrilled to have this unique opportunity to support the higher education community through the Score for Scholarships program to benefit all Texas State students,” said Tony C. Budet, UFCU CEO. “UFCU is passionate about changing lives and strengthening communities, and education is a key to achieving that. We look forward to cheering on the Bobcats, as their successes on the field and court mean more scholarships to students in the classroom.”

“Texas State Athletics is proud to have the support of UFCU,” said Don Coryell, Texas State Athletics Director. “Thanks to UFCU, when the Bobcats score, everybody wins.”
