UFCU Honored With Three Workplace Excellence Awards

Austin, TEXAS, May 19, 2021 — In a year of many challenges, University Federal Credit Union (UFCU) has remained committed to its people-first culture and creating a workplace — both virtually and in its 20+ locations — that prioritizes the health and well-being of its employees and their families. Others have taken notice. Over the last 12 months, Austin’s largest locally owned financial institution was rewarded for its commitment to its employees and recognized for workplace excellence by three separate organizations: the 2021 Gallup Exceptional Workplace Award, Early Matters Greater Austin 2021 Best Place for Working Parents and the Greater Austin Chamber’s 2020 Greater Austin Business Awards.

UFCU’s most recent honor is the Gallup Exceptional Workplace Award — Gallup’s premier recognition for engaged workplace cultures. Only 39 organizations worldwide met the high expectations it takes to receive this honor. The award is presented to organizations that meet rigorous standards of excellence, of which UFCU exceeded.

UFCU strives to be an employer of choice and is committed to providing a working environment that supports what matters most to its employees. The credit union offers a comprehensive rewards package that goes beyond the basics with extended health and wellness benefits, including an onsite gym, fitness discounts, and programs; life and disability insurance, financial education and advice; and legal assistance, Those benefits are made available to spouses and domestic partners. UFCU also empowers its employees to actively engage in the community with paid volunteer time off to serve others and matching charitable contributions.

“For 85 years, our outstanding employees have made the well-being and financial health of our Members their top priority. They consistently demonstrate our shared values on a daily basis, and because of their excellence our Members continue to put their trust in us. These awards, and our success, are only made possible because our employees prove time and again that people, not profits, are what matters,” said Tony Budet, UFCU president/CEO.
