Austin, TEXAS, April 5, 2017 – University Federal Credit Union, Austin’s largest locally-owned financial institution, announced today the appointment of Corina Watts to director of marketing.
In the newly created position, Watts will lead all facets of strategic marketing, including branding, external communication, media and public relations, and market and membership analytics. The new role marks the fifth promotion she has achieved since joining the co-op in 1996 as a market sales coordinator.
As senior manager of marketing since 2001, she has led numerous strategic initiatives to build the UFCU brand and enhance Member engagement, including implementing a website redesign that significantly expanded site usage, launching the popular Wheels 101® program, helping thousands of Members make wiser car buying decisions, establishing branding to maximize UFCU’s multi-million dollar Disch-Falk Field sponsorship, and dramatically increasing UFCU’s community awareness by pioneering its social media strategy.
Watts holds a bachelor’s degree in business and management as well as a master’s degree in business administration, both from St. Edward’s University in Austin. Active in numerous professional and community organizations, she has served as the Texas Credit Union League (TCUL) Marketing and Business Development Council chair and was a council member of The University of Texas Elementary School. She has been named Marketer of the Year by TCUL, Rookie of the Year by the Credit Union Executive Society, and a Rising Star by UFCU.
