UFCU Names Tom Garrett Vice President/CFO

Austin, TEXAS, January 6, 2020 — UFCU®, Austin’s largest locally owned financial institution, has named Tom Garrett Vice President, Finance/CFO. Tom has a long history of developing exceptional leaders. He will help our credit union with planning, developing, and executing finance, data analysis, and process improvement strategies to support the cooperative’s goals and objectives. Garrett will focus on developing, retaining, and collaborating with our organization’s talented professionals. We believe that UFCU succeeds based on our people, and we are looking forward to Tom’s contributions.

Tom is a dynamic senior financial executive with extensive experience, including roles as CFO and Treasurer of Fortune 500 companies LTV Steel, Service Merchandise, and Magma Copper. He has a track record of adding value quickly to every senior leadership team he joins. Garrett is a proven and strategic partner to the CEOs he has served and repeatedly builds highly talented finance and operating teams committed to delivering strong strategic and financial decision-making support to the senior leadership and business operators. Garrett most recently served as Global EVP & CFO of Mood Media, where he had responsibility for all finance, accounting, FP&A, tax, treasury, and capital structure worldwide.

Garrett earned a BS in Accounting, summa cum laude, from The University of Akron. He has also completed executive leadership programs at the Center for Creative Leadership and Northwestern Kellogg School of Management.
