UFCU Names Vice President of Retail Lending

Austin, TEXAS, January 2, 2020 — UFCU, Austin’s largest locally owned financial institution, has named Jim Brown vice president of retail lending.

In his new role, Brown will lead UFCU’s consumer, mortgage, and insurance services. He will direct retail lending operations and insurance services to implement initiatives to meet Member needs and oversee all retail lending and insurance functions, including long-term strategy development, implementation, and oversight. He also will monitor and analyze local and national market conditions and recommend action as needed. Previously, Brown served as director of retail lending.

Brown joined UFCU in 1989 as a collections officer. In his 30 years at UFCU, he has progressed through positions of increasing responsibility, including credit manager, senior manager of consumer lending, senior manager of lending, and senior manager of retail lending. He holds a bachelor’s degree in management from Texas A&M University.
